Moodsy is a hybrid dating and social network. You can swipe to discover people, build friendships, share posts on the feed, and chat — all with a reputation system (Karma) that rewards genuine interactions.
Yes — the core experience is completely free. You can swipe up to 20 times per day, send messages, post to the feed, and connect with people at no cost. A Premium tier with unlimited swipes and extra features is coming soon.
After signing up, go to Profile → Edit Profile. Add your display name, bio, birth date, city, and upload photos. The more complete your profile, the better your visibility in Discover.
Discover shows you profiles one at a time. Swipe right (or tap Like) to like someone, swipe left (or tap Pass) to skip. If they like you back, it's a match — and a conversation is automatically created in Messages.
Free accounts get 20 swipes per day. This resets every 24 hours. The limit encourages more thoughtful choices rather than rapid swiping. Premium users get unlimited swipes.
Yes — use the Search page (magnifying glass icon in the Discover header) to filter by name, gender, age, marital status, and city.
New conversations start in Stranger phase — each person can send up to 2 messages. Once you become Friends (accept a friend request from their profile), the chat unlocks to Friend phase with a higher message limit.
Long-press any conversation to apply a 12-hour Cooldown. The chat becomes read-only for that period — you can still read messages but can't send new ones. It's a tool to take a break without blocking anyone. Long-press again to unlock early.
Yes — long-press a conversation and choose Silence for 2h, 4h, or 8h. You'll still receive messages; only the notification sound/badge is muted.
Karma is Moodsy's reputation score. You can give Karma to posts you appreciate — each user gets 10 Karma points to give per day (max 5 to the same person). Your Karma score affects your visibility in Discover and the weight your interactions carry.
Yes — Karma decays slowly over time (−1 every 3 days) to keep scores active. Reports and blocks from other users can also reduce your score.
No — self-Karma is blocked.
Private Albums let you store photos that are blurred by default on your profile. Other users can request access — you approve or deny each request. Approved users see your private photos with a watermark for protection.
Visit their profile and tap 'Request Access' below the blurred divider. Your request appears as a notification for them. You'll be notified when they approve or deny.
We apply deterrents: right-click is blocked, drag-and-drop is disabled, and a watermark with the viewer's username overlays every private photo. While no system is 100% foolproof, these measures make unauthorized sharing significantly harder.
Go to Settings → Pause account. While paused, your profile is hidden from Discover and the Feed. You can still receive messages and notifications. Resume at any time.
Visit their profile and tap the three-dot menu (or the block/report buttons). Blocking removes the friendship, hides you from each other, and prevents further contact. Reports are reviewed by our team.
Your account is soft-deleted immediately — you're logged out and can't log back in. Your profile, posts, and messages are permanently removed within 30 days, in line with GDPR.
Read our full Privacy Policy at moodsy.cc/privacy. In short: we only collect what's needed to run the service, never sell your data, and you can request deletion at any time.
